Peek into my Studio – Mixed Media Paintings and Some Sorrow

I’m having a difficult time writing this week. I’ve done some painting but have been disrupted by sad family news. My older brother is nearing the end of life, and it breaks my heart. Currently I’m making plans to try and see him before it’s too late. I knew he had been admitted to the…

In the Studio This Week – Creative Slump, Mixed Media Portrait, and Metal Leaf

In the Studio This Week – Not Much to Write Home About

I don’t have much to write home about this week. I caught something and don’t feel up to par. I did manage to squeak out a monochrome pencil portrait from Kaleidoscope 2023 and started on a mixed media painting from The Mastery Program.  So far, I’ve managed to keep on track with The Mastery Program…

In the Studio This Week – A Magical Equine and Gesture Drawings and Self-Doubt

In the studio this week, I focused exclusively on the Milan Art Institute lessons as I’m trying to get ahead of the syllabus schedule. That and all the little life annoyances that have recently cropped up in my life. I had some ups and downs both in my artistic growth and my personal challenges. The…

WHAT TO READ NOW

WHAT TO READ NOW

If you struggle to understand why you act in a certain way or why you experience internal struggles or external conflict, I strongly suggest Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor’s book is a must read! Her story is amazing in that she suffered a massive stroke in her early 30s and essentially lost the left side of her brain.
